EU Commission President threatens Italian people as nationalists look on course for victory in upcoming elections

The president of the European Commission threatened the Italian people with “tools” at the blocs disposal should they vote for political parties that do not tow the line on the agenda of Brussels elite.

Italians go the polls on Sunday and it is expected the ‘Brothers of Italy’ along with other nationalist parties will dominate the vote and form the new government in Rome.

These parties have promised to uphold the will of the people, clapping down on mass immigration, rejecting EU imposed austerity and rolling back the “woke” societal engineering led by the LGBTQQIP2SAA mob.

Von Der Leyen, the disgraced former German Defence Minister who was under investigation for corruption when she was selected for the EU’s top job said in relation to working with a nationalist government in Italy:”If things go in a difficult direction, I’ve spoken about Hungary and Poland, we have tools.”

Her comments were condemned by Matteo Salvini, the head of the League and a part of the nationalist alliance, as “shameful arrogance” Reuters reported.

“What is this, a threat?” he wrote on Twitter. “Respect the free, democratic and sovereign vote of the Italian people!”

“The President of the European Commission suggests that if the Italians elect a government that Brussels does not like, they may have funds blocked,” Polish Deputy Justice Minister Sebastian Kaleta said on Twitter.

“Further proof that the “rule of law” is pure blackmail to impose EU, or rather German, dictates. Such is “democracy”,” he added.

The nationalist alliance headed by Brothers of Italy leader Giorgia Meloni looks set to attain victory in the elections and a show down with the unelected elite of the EU would then be inevitable.
