The European Union has seemingly decided not to renew its deal with pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca for its Covid-19 vaccine according to a leading official.
Speaking to France Inter, the European Union’s Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton announced that the bloc has decided not to renew its contract beyond June.
Although Breton offered little clarity on whether or not the EU would renew its contract, he did say we will see what happens.
Breton’s comments come as the commission has taken legal action against the pharmaceutical company over its failure to meet supply agreements.
