EU-loving Bono loses his voice onstage and has to stop Berlin concert after just 20 mins

The “proud European” and U2 frontman Bono had an absolute howler last night. As one social media user put it “Bono made an absolute show of himself waffling about the EU and then couldn’t even perform”.

U2 were forced to released the following statement over the concert’s cancellation:
“We’re so sorry for tonight’s cancellation. Bono was in great form and great voice prior to the show and we were all looking forward to the second night in Berlin, but after a few songs, he suffered a complete loss of voice.

We don’t know what has happened and we’re taking medical advice.

As always, we appreciate our audience’s understanding and all our fans’ support in Berlin and those who travelled from afar. We will update you very soon.

Adam, Larry and Edge”

U2 were foreced to cut short an Experience & Innocence 2018 tour concert in Berlin after Bono lost his voice onstage just 20 minutes into the show.

The 58-yr-old had sang a few songs for about 20 minutes but then was completely out of his depth and unable to sing “Red Flag Day.” The band then stopped the music so he could address the audience.
“I can promise you I have not been smoking,” he told the crowd, as seen in videos fans posted online. “But this is like a giant cigar. I’ve lost my voice and I don’t know what to do…it was singing like a bird about 10 minutes ago.”

Just a few days ago, Bono declared his love the EU and how he planned on waving a European flag on stage in Berlin. He was also noted for praising the amount of migrants being allowed into European countries and how we should be taking more in.
