It was heartbreak for Ireland tonight as Slovakia won the semi final play off semi finals on penalties.
In a last chance saloon to reach the delayed finals Stephen Kenny’s men went out despite a spirited performance in Bratislava.
Ireland who are one of the host countries for the final tournament will look back and wonder as Alan Browne and Conor Hourahine spurned great chances to the boy’s in green through to the final play match.
However despite one Ireland’s better performances Slovakia who had chances of their own will go through to the final round after winning 4-2 on penalties.
