The official end of World War One will be remembered today at an annual event taking place at Glasnevin Cemetery this morning.
Armistice Day is celebrated in many countries around Europe, to commemorate the end of the Great War 97 years ago. In the UK, for instance, veterans and their families will gather at the Cenotaph to remember the fallen.
Irish Minister for Arts Heritage and the Gaeltacht Heather Humphreys will be joined by representatives of the British, Australian, Austrian, New Zealand and Italian governments at Glasnevin for today’s event.
