One of the country’s biggest supermarkets has announced that they will be donating surplus food supplies to the homeless this Christmas Eve.
In an announcement made this week Tesco Ireland said they along with the help of a newly founded group called Foodcloud will be distributing the waste food from all of its 149 stores across Ireland.
The move who has become somewhat of annual tradition amongst supermarket chains across Ireland and the UK will see the nations homeless charities been given much needed food supplies which will be given to those sleeping rough this Christmas.
Tesco say the drive will begin on Christmas Eve and will at 7pm and will run until stores re-open on St Stephen’s Day.
