There was good news for prospective students as it has been revealed that an extra 500 college places will be created this year.
According to RTE News, the extra places were created following concerns that competition for places will be heightened following this year’s Leaving Certificate results.
RTE News reports that a number of positions will be made available in medicine, nursing, law, business and science courses.
It is expected that the Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris will confirm the creation of extra spaces later today.
