Facebook have confirmed that they have removed all horrifying footage of Thursday morning’s M50 car crash which tragically saw a young woman die.
Gardai have also confirmed that they have escalated their search into finding who originally posted the footage on social media.
It’s understood that they are currently reviewing CCTV footage after images of a car crash on the M50 have been shared on social media.
In an announcement made on Friday, Gardai said that they are currently reviewing the footage and are searching for vehicles that may have stopped and took photos or recorded footage of the incident.
Tragically Jacqueline Griffin lost her life when her car was involved in some sort of collision with a lorry.
Gardai are urging the public not to share any photos or footage of the incident on social media should they come across it.
