Failte Ireland claims Ireland’s extra Bank Holiday could mean €20 million to the tourism sector

Who doesn’t enjoy getting to sleep in on bank holiday Mondays? Well, the tourism sector might make an extra few quid out of it too.

Extra Bank Holiday late in the year could bring in an extra €20m to the tourism sector, according to Fáilte Ireland.

It is understood that the Government is considering introducing an additional Bank Holiday this year, to compensate for losses incurred by the tourism industry this year.

The date of the extra holidays remains yet undetermined but could coincide with Thanksgiving.
