All newly qualified teachers will have an starting salary of €31,800 a year, it has emerged today.
It is understood however, that only teachers who are aligned with TUI and INTO unions will be eligible to receive the upgraded pay. ASTI has not yet signed up to the Lansdowne Road Agreement.
The new pay packet equals to a raise of about €2,000 per year for teachers starting their career.
