The European Championship pool final was forfeited on Thursday by Irish pool champion Kim O’Brien because she refused to play transgender rival Harriet Haynes, reports The Mirror.

O’Brien gave her opponent a quick shake of the hand as the game was ready to start to indicate that she was giving up.

After O’Brien shook Haynes’ hand, she remained there looking shocked for a few seconds. A woman in the audience was seen on camera applauding O’Brien and saying, “Yes Kim, for all the women out there,” reports The Mirror.

“Miss Cue” is an accomplished athlete who has competed in the sport for over thirty years.

She played for England from 1992 to 1997, a total of five years, before switching to Ireland. She has now taken home two European crowns and five National Irish Championships, reports The Mirror.
