Families who are on the brink of homelessness cannot wait years for Government promises to build new homes, the leading charity Threshold has said.
It added that the Government’s promise to build 35,000 homes within the next six years might come too late for many.
Bob Jordan, chief executive of the charity, has said that there are now 90,000 families in waiting lists for social housing, as a result of cuts in funding.
