The families of Jastine Valdez and Mark Hennessy have revealed that they have met each other in wake of the recent tragedy.
According to RTÉ News, both families reportedly met last Friday, following their deaths.
The meeting which came nine days after Ms Valdez was abducted and murdered, whilst Mr Hennessy was shot by armed Gardai following the abduction of Ms Valdez, who was later found in gorse land near Puck’s Castle in South Dublin.
In a brief statement released by on behalf of the Gardai, both families said the following: “”In the midst of our grief both the Valdez and Hennessy families met on Friday morning where we exchanged sympathies with each other on the tragic circumstances that resulted in the loss of our respective loved ones.”
“Both families request privacy at this very difficult time.”
Meanwhile Gardaí have confirmed that investigations into Ms Valdez’s murder are still ongoing.
It has also been confirmed that GSOC are conducting an investigation into the shooting of father of two Mark Hennessy.
