Family ask for privacy after ‘tragic accident’ sees 8-yr-old killed by rottweiler dogs in Dublin

Horrifying news this Monday as it has been reported that an eight-year-old boy has succumbed to injuries he received when attacked by two rottweiler dogs.

The attack on the boy occurred in Tallaght around 4 PM on Sunday afternoon and the child was rushed to Tallaght Hospital shortly thereafter.

He was subsequently transferred to Children’s Health Ireland hospital at Crumlin where doctors fought to save his life overnight but sadly Gardai announced on Monday morning that the boy had died.

Both dogs have since been seized by Gardai and the dog warden has been notified. It is presumed they will be destroyed in due course.

In a statement to the public a Garda spokesman said:

“The male child (8) who was seriously injured yesterday Sunday 22nd March 2020 following a reported attack by a number of dogs in the Tallaght area passed away this morning Monday 23rd March 2020 at Children’s Health Ireland (CHI) at Crumlin.”

A full investigation into the death of the child has been launched.
