Family comes first: UFC chief Dana White reveals Conor McGregor won’t fight until next May

Last week Conor McGregor made UFC history by defeating Eddie Alvarez to become the first ever double champion to hold two titles at the same time, and as always ‘The Notorious’ barely had his hand raised in triumph before many were speculating who he would be fighting next.

Well now it seems everyone has gotten their answer after UFC president Dana White confirmed this evening that the Dubliner won’t be seen before next summer.

McGregor who recently revealed he is about to become a father for the first time won’t be gracing the octagon until his future son or daughter is born.

Speaking about McGregor’s absence, White said: “He won’t fight before May,” White told the LA Times. “His girl gets super stressed out when he fights. He doesn’t want her having any of that stress while she’s pregnant.

“He’s good. He should take time off. He’s been fighting nonstop. Nothing wrong with him taking time off. It’s good for him and her and it’s good for the baby.”
