Victoria Mary Clarke thanked supporters for their support while her husband, Pogues star Shane McGowan, continues to receive hospital care, reports RTE.
Clarke posted a photo on the social networking site X (formerly Twitter) in which she smiles at the Irish singer as he lies in bed wearing a medical gown.
She previously told the Irish Sunday Mirror that McGowan had come out of intensive care and was “feeling fine” but did not specify a health problem.
In an update released on Monday, she wrote: “I just wanted to thank everyone who is sending love and prayers for @ShaneMacGowan,” reports RTE.
“We really appreciate it and bless all of you and anyone anywhere who is having health challenges! @poguesofficial,” reports RTE.
McGowan has been in a wheelchair since 2015 after sustaining an injury in a fall.
From the 1980s, he fronted the Irish punk band The Pogues, best known for their 1987 hit Fairytale of New York.
In 2018, Pogues frontwoman and journalist Victoria Mary Clark tied the knot in a small ceremony in Copenhagen, Denmark, in front of guests including Johnny Depp.
