Farcical? Mary Lou accuses other parties of copying Sinn Féin policy

In an attempt to stop the squandering of public funds, Sinn Féin has presented a six-step strategy, reports The Mirror.

The creation of a New Standards and Anti-Corruption Commission is another aspect of the strategy.

At a function held this afternoon at the Teachers’ Club in Dublin, Mairéad Farrell and Pearse Doherty introduced it.

Ms Farrell added the plan will include, “a waste audit of all government departments and State bodies”.

“I think what infuriates people is that very regularly, they feel that they only really reach the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the waste of public money,” she said, reports The Mirror.

“We also would have a new Standards and Anti-Corruption Commission, so there will be powers provided there to investigate corruption,” reports The Mirror.

The party has introduced its work-life balance policy.

It asserts that work-life balance should not be sacrificed for productivity given the state of technology today, reports The Mirror.

In order to examine a four-day workweek, the party intends to call a Citizen’s Assembly.

The first Monday of July should be a bank holiday, according to the Greens, reports The Mirror.

The party claims that implementing a weekly €30 cost of disability payment will cost an extra €1.1 billion annually.

It would execute the Disability Capacity Review and provide Section 39 workers with wage equity, reports The Mirror.
