A 33-yr-old man has been arrested by French police on suspicion of killing his wife and their four children, according to a prosecutor, reports RTE.
The bodies of the 35-yr-old woman and her two daughters and two sons were discovered in their home in Meaux, east of Paris, on Christmas evening after concerned friends and family raised the alarm.
The police broke into the ground-floor flat through a bedroom window and found a scene of extreme violence, reports RTE.
The mother was found dead in the corridor, while the children were discovered in various rooms of the house.
“The mother and the two girls had received a very high number of knife wounds,” the prosecutor said, reports RTE.
