The plot thickens around the so-called ISIS Bride Lisa Smith, as the FBI is probing the nature of her relationship with a well-known American Jihadi, John Georgelas.
According to background checks, Ms. Smith regularly engaged in contact with Georgelas, who allegedly facilitated her travel into Syria by providing funds. Georgelas is known to have done work for ISIS, creating propaganda and audiovisual material for the terrorist organization.
Ms. Smith maintains that her only relationship with an extremist was her marriage to the now deceased Sajid Aslam, who reportedly was an ISIS operative.
Despite this murky past, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has insisted that he’d like to bring Ms. Smith back home.
