There are fears that a major eruption at Mount Kilauea is imminent.
The volcano, one of the most active in the world, has been spewing lava and debris for the last 12 days.
A number of homes have already been destroyed, prompting about 2,000 residents to flee.
The last major eruption occurred in 1924, but there are now concerns that the volcano may be about to blow and eject molten rocks and lava for miles around the island.
