A female pedestrian has been seriously injured after being hit by a car earlier today.
The incident happened on the Navan Road, at approximately 8.15am. The woman was rushed to the Mater hospital in Dublin, where her injuries are described as serious.
It is understood the driver of the car was arrested and brought to Finglas Garda station.
The road will remain closed for a time to facilitate a technical examination.
