One student has achieved 9 A1s while eight other students earned 8 A1s.
There has been a dramatic improvement in ordinary level maths results, which is as a result of a more lenient approach to correcting difficult papers.
The fail rate in maths fell to 5.9% and the amount of students achieving an A, B, or C grade jumped to a strong 74%, from 64-67% in the last two years of results.
Honours Level maths results were very strong throughout the country.
The amount of students taking higher level was at 27.4%, the same as last year which may indicate that the amount of people choosing Honours maths is levelling off.
Tony Donohue, Ibec’s head of education policy said there was a rising interest in maths and science which in turn
has led to a high demand for university courses such as technology or science.
