Fianna Fail have won the most seats in the Seanad this evening after counting was completed a short time ago.
Reports state that the party will hold 14 of the 49 elected seats, whilst Fine Gael will have 13. Meanwhile Sinn Féin will have 7 seats, whilst Labour will have 5, and the Green Party will have 1.
There will also be 8 independents. However, Fine Gael will still remain as the largest party, given the fact that the Taoiseach Enda Kenny will fill the remaining 11 seats with TD’s from his own party once a new government is formed.
