The Fianna Fáil party has lost another party member this week after councillor David McGuinness has submitted his resignation from the party.
The move comes just weeks after Mr McGuinness was told he could not contest the general election.
Mr McGuinness has seemingly quit the party just over six weeks after losing at the convention to run for the party in Dublin West.
Mr McGuinness had already ran in two by-elections – coming second on both occasions.
Councillor McGuinness made brief statement regarding his resignation in which he slammed party leader Micheál Martin and fellow Fianna Fail TD’s saying they have done nothing to rebuild the trust of communities across the country.
