Fianna Fail’s Micheal Martin appears to not care less what the Irish public think of him or how popular he’ll be as Taoiseach.
The incoming Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that he is happy to be an unpopular Taoiseach.
Speaking on Virgin Media’s The Tonight Show, Martin said that he has been unpopular before, but it’s not about popularity but about doing things that needed to be done even they aren’t considered popular.
Martin also told the programme that he intends to stay on as party leader even after his stint as Taoiseach is finished.
