France have advanced to the FIFA World Cup Final after they beat Belgium 1-0 this evening.

In a cagey game it was the French who came out on top as Samuel Umtiti’s header proved the difference between the two sides.

Belgium who were in fine form going into the game had a few chances in the first half with Jan Vertonghan going closest as his shot was superbly saved by Hugo Lloris.

France who were more than happy to play on the counter attack, always looked a danger especially with Mbappe running at the Belgian defence.

However the key moment came in the second half when Umtiti’s header from a French corner gave Didier Deschamps men the lead.

Although Belgium pushed for an equaliser with Fellaini coming closest with header that just went past Lloris post.

The French who have been praised for their defensive performance through the tournament showed their resolve and closed the game out to book their place in Sunday’s final.

France will now either play England or Croatia on Sunday, whilst Belgium will have to settle for a place in Saturday’s 3rd/4th place play-off.
