France have advanced to the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup after beating Argentina 4-3 this afternoon.

In a game that will be highlight of this year’s tournament Kilyan Mbappe-Lottin, showed his class to book the a place in the last eight.

France who have given under-par performances during the group stage took the lead when Griezmann slotted home a penalty after Mbappe was hauled down by Marcus Rojo.

The French who became lacklustre were made to pay on the 41st minute when Di Maria slammed home terrific equaliser to leave the teams level at the break.

Argentina who also under performed in the group stages were dreaming of a last eight place themselves when they surprisingly took the lead through Mercado at the beginning of a pulsating second half.

However Didier Deschamps men quickly rallied to pull level when Pavard smashed home an exceptional equaliser from the edge of the box on the 57th minute.

France buoyed by their equaliser took full advantage of a tiring Argentinian side when that man Mbappe, scored twice in four minutes to break Argentinian hearts and effectively kill the game.

Argentina who desperately tried to pull themselves back in the game, were rewarded with a late consolation when Augero scored in the 93rd minute following some good up play.

However unfortunately that was as good as it got for the Argentinians as France closed out the game to advance to the last eight.
