The beginning of August will see rather fine and settled weather conditions, according to Met Eireann.

Temperatures will reach 23-24C over the next 48 hours, with long periods of sunshine and little in the way of rain.

There will be scattered outbreaks of rain during the weekend, particularly across Munster, but the rest of the country will remain largely dry.
