Both the Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil parties will hold discussions over the upcoming Budget within the next fortnight it has been confirmed.
According to RTÉ News, both parties will hold discussions on the first week of September ahead of Budget day on October 9th.
It is expected both parties will outline their proposals on how the extra €800m in funding will be spent.
Although both parties are expected to agree on a number of proposals, issues including housing and the Universal Social Charge could see both parties collide.
It is expected the talks could prove pivotal for Fine Gael as Fianna Fáil have previously stated that they will not declare the stance on the current minority led Government until after the Budget in October.
