Fines are set to double for ignoring traffic wardens outside schools to improve road safety outside schools

Some people aren’t always so courteous when they see traffic wardens, but some thugs aren’t so respectful, especially people on bikes and scooters.

Fines are now set to double for anyone who ignores traffic wardens. The cost will go up from €80 to €160 and will be implemented by October.

The announcement comes into force as new safety measures for road safety are announced as children around the country prepare to go back to school.
