If you’re not planning on getting vaccinated or if you’re not able to get the jab at the moment, the government have warned people not attempt to use forged vaccine certs – if they do then they face very hefty fines of up to €2,500.

The government claim indoor dining will be properly regulated when it resumes for those vaccinated or recovered from Covid.

There are concerns about the review and enforcement of the new legislation. Indoor dining is expected to resume sometime next week.

Some opposition TDs have said they would prefer to remain closed until September, while others consider it discriminatory.

The Taoiseach says that while it is a risk, it is done safely. Falsified vaccination certs will see people face fines of up to €2,500.

HSE and HSA compliance officers will monitor this with concerns about inspections and compliance. Health Minister Stephen Donnelly said it wasn’t a 9-to-5 job.

The law, which will be in force until the beginning of October, will be published later this week.
