Five people trapped in missing submersible vehicle close to the Titanic wreck have just 28 hours of air left

The five people who on board the missing submersible close to the wreck of the Titanic have roughly 28 hours of breathable air left, the US Coast Guard confirmed.

Captain Jamie Frederick said the search for the vessel, called Titan, had not yielded any results so far but has covered a massive search area.

An ROV (remotely operated underwater vehicle) has been deployed at the site and has a camera on board to try and find the missing vehicle.

A unified command has also been set up, consisting of “expertise from the United States Coast Guard, the United States Navy, Canadian Armed Forces and Coast Guard, and the Titan’s parent company, Ocean Gate Expeditions”, Captain Frederick said.

Since the weekend, the search teams have combined an area of 7,600 square miles but so far have not located the missing vehicle.
