A five-year-old boy was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in New York after developing a high fever and vomiting. He and his family have reportedly just returned from Guinea, an Ebola hot zone. The boy’s family are kept under observation inside their apartment.
The city’s first Ebola case, Dr. Craig Spencer, is also being treated at the same hospital.
The number of reported Ebola cases worldwide has now surpassed 10,000, the World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed. So far, the number of deaths from Ebola-related causes stands at 4,922.
Mali has become the latest country to report the infection.
