Five young children found dead in Germany today were reportedly killed by their mother, who then attempted suicide.
The grim discovery was made this afternoon inside an apartment in the German town of Solingen, about 60 miles away from Cologne.
The mother, believed to be aged 27, was found about 20 miles away from the apartment. She reportedly attempted to take her own life but failed.
The children ranged in ages between 1 and 8.
