Gardai in Limerick have confirmed that an 11 year old girl has been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision this evening.
It is understood that the girl was seriously injured after she was struck by a car on the N24 at Pallasgreen at approximately 5.30pm this evening.
Gardai say the young girl was taken to Cork University Hospital where she remains in serious condition.
They added that the occupants of the car were uninjured in the incident.
