The town of Mullingar is to recieve a boost after it was confirmed that the Midlands town will host the 2020 and 2021 Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann.
Following a meeting this weekend Ardchomhairle of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann, announced that the Irish traditional music and dance festival will be held in the town.
The occasion will be made all the more special as it will mark the 70 year anniversary since the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann was founded in the town back in 1951.
This year’s event will be held in Drogheda, Co Louth for the second year running after last year’s fleadh attracted over 400,000.
