Footage has emerged of a shootout between two crime gangs in the French city of Montpellier.
One person was injured as criminals opened fire on each other in the Mosson-la-Paillade area of the southwestern city according to Sputnik. Videos taken from the scene look like a warzone, with the criminals exchanging heavy gunfire during broad daylight in a residential neighbourhood. One clip shows a wounded man, who has seemingly been shot in the leg.
It is understood that the incident was part of an ongoing dispute between two local gangs over a drug deal, and police have drafted in additional security forces to seal off the area. According to France’s police union, Montpellier is quickly becoming one of the country’s most dangerous cities.
