It’s beginning to get a bit much for many people at this stage. Where, when and how will this all end? Well, it appears as though March 5th is just a date to string people along for another six weeks.
The Taoiseach Micheal Martin has said that there is no guarantee that Level 5 restrictions will end on March 5th.
Speaking at briefing announcing the extended lockdown, the Taoiseach said there are no guarantees that the lockdown will end on that date and he admitted that Ireland is facing a prolonged lockdown.
He went on to say that the current restrictions are having an impact on the spread of the virus and the goal is to get numbers down.
The Taoiseach said that role of vaccines will play a part in quarter two but even then we could face further restrictions given the concerns over new variants.
