A court in the UK has started hearing a case involving former footballer Ryan Giggs and accusations that he used controlling and coercive behaviour against his ex-girlfriend, Kate Greville.
According to Sky News, the Court heard from the prosecutor talking about how Giggs was “idolised” for his football skills but that he had a “much uglier and more sinister side to his character” behind closed doors.
Giggs and Ms. Greville were in a relationship in 2017 during which time he stands accused of being controlling and physically and psychologically abusive.
The Court heard a list of people who would feature in the trial. They included former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, Gigg’s former teammate Gary Neville and his former wife Stacey.
Giggs has denied all charges.
