The political establishment in the United States once again disregards party lines and unites to oppose Donald Trump as the final night of the Republican National Convention takes place.
Almost 200 ex-staffers for former President George W. Bush, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT), and late Arizona Sen. John McCain, all stalwarts of the Republican party, have endorsed the 2020 Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.
This marks a repeat of the 2016 election when at first the Republican Party establishment attempted to stop Donald Trump attaining the GOP nomination before being overwhelmed by the popular groundswell of support.
Some, such as the late Sen. John McCain and Sen. Mitt Romney along with other members of the Neo-Conservative branch of the party, maintained their opposition to President Trump even after his nomination and into his presidency.
While a portion of the establishment Republican party still work against President Trump and his America First agenda, some grassroots Democrats have conversely, also switched sides with the #walkaway movement and the ‘Democrats for Trump’ movement backing his re-election bid.
