Former Taoiseach and Fianna TD Brian Cowen has reportedly been taken to hospital with a serious illness.
According to Midlands 103, Mr Cowen was rushed to the Beacon Hospital on Thursday evening.
The station also reports that Mr Cowen’s hospital visit is his second within recent months after he was taken to hospital when he fell ill at a golfing event in April.
Mr Cowen stepped down from his role as Taoiseach in 2011 after succeeding Bertie Ahern in 2008.
