Former Trump political strategist Steve Bannon might face up to a year in prison for refusing to comply with a subpoena issued by the US Congress.
Mr. Bannon, a well-known right-wing media personality and one-time strategist at the Trump White House, received a subpoena to testify as part of the Congress’ investigation into the January 6th insurrection.
After Bannon refused to comply, lawmakers overwhelmingly voted in favor of holding him in contempt of Congress. If convicted, he could face substantial jail time and a hefty fine.
