Nikolas Cruz has pleaded guilty to the massacre at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
The 23-year-old so-called ‘Parkland Shooter’ killed 17 people and injured 17 others when he opened fire with an automatic weapon on Valentine’s Day, 2018, at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida . The event became the deadliest high school shooting in the US.
Cruz walked the hallways of the facility, shooting indiscriminately as he did. He fled the scene afterwards but was apprehended a short time later.
He now faces a minimum of life imprisonment or capital punishment.
