The former Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko, has warned Western nations that the Russian Government will not take the expulsion of its foreign diplomats lying down.
In an in depth interview with Sky News Mr Yushchenko warned that the EU and other countries around the world could face the wrath of Vladimir Putin and the Russian Government in the wake of the crisis which has seen more than 130 diplomats expelled from other nations.
Although Mr Yushchenko welcomed the decision to take a stance against the Russian government by the UK and other governments, he did warn that Mr Putin would stop at nothing to take out his enemies.
The former Ukrainian leader who was also the victim of a poisoning attack back in 2004 during the Presidential election, also told Sky News that the Russian Government would punish everyone who opposes their regime and its political course.
When asked about what impact would the expulsions would have on the Russian government, Mr Yushchenko claimed that it would be detrimental blow to Vladimir Putin and Moscow as the Russian leader fears international solidarity the most.
Mr Yushchenko added that he fully believes the Russian government was behind the poisoning of former Russian agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter in Salisbury and he stated that Western government’s should believe it too as he himself has no doubt.
