Social workers are looking for a foster family to look after the newborn baby girl found abandoned last Friday afternoon.
The girl, who was just two days old, had been fed and nourished before being left wrapped in a plastic bag in Rathcoole, Dublin.
She is being looked after at Tallagh Hospital for the time being, and is said to be in a stable condition.
The Gardai and health staff have appealed for the mother of the baby to come forward.
