Armed members of the Gardai raided several premises this morning and arrested four men, all aged in their 20s, after a recent spike of criminal activity in rural areas of Co. Limerick.
The region has hit the headlines in recent times due to an unprecedented wave of violent burglaries and suspected arson attacks.
A spokesperson for the Gardai said: “The operation began this morning around 7am. The searches swung into place around that time and involved various search teams, the dog unit and the RSU,”
“There was a team of forty gardai involved. The operation is being led by Bruff gardaĆ, supported by the Divisional Drug Unit and other units.”
