Four thugs arrested after elderly couple badly assaulted during burglary in Dublin

GardaĆ­ have taken four people into custody as part of an investigation into an aggravated burglary that took place at a home in Shanganagh Cliffs, Shankill, Co Dublin on Wednesday night, reports Breaking News.

During the burglary, four individuals entered the house of a couple in their 60s, where they assaulted them and issued threats while brandishing a firearm.

The suspects fled the scene using a car and an electric bicycle, reports Breaking News.

The male homeowner, who is in his 60s, was taken to St Vincent’s University Hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

GardaĆ­ from Shankill Garda Station quickly responded to the report and conducted a search of the surrounding area, reports Breaking News.

Three suspects were apprehended when gardaĆ­ stopped a vehicle, and a fourth was arrested nearby while riding an electric bike.

As part of the area search, officers also recovered a semi-automatic firearm, reports Breaking News.

All four individuals — a man in his 60s, a man in his 20s, and two minors — are being held at various Garda stations in Dublin under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

GardaĆ­ have said that the investigation is still ongoing, reports Breaking News.
