The French Government has joined Ireland and banned all travel from the UK for 48 hours.
In an announcement the French Government said that all travel in and out of the UK will be put on hold until Tuesday.
The decision comes after the Irish Government placed a ban from all travel until Tuesday.
It is understood that the bans come after UK health officials say they have identified a new strain of Covid-19 that is believed to be 70% more transmissible.
