Angry farmers in France have threatened to converge on Paris in the coming days as traffic barricades were only partially lifted on the country’s major roads, reports Breaking News.

The farmers are protesting against the government’s recent announcement of measures that they believe do not fully address their demands.

The farmers’ movement is seeking better remuneration for their produce, less bureaucracy, and protection against cheap imports, reports Breaking News.

The protests have spread across the country, with protesters using their tractors to shut down long stretches of road and slow traffic. They have also dumped agricultural waste at government offices.

Some of the barricades were being lifted gradually on Saturday, but highway operator Vinci Autoroutes reported that the A7, a major highway heading through southern France, was still closed.

Some other roads were also partially closed, mostly in southern France, reports Breaking News.
