Germany’s anti-terror chief has warned that the country could face large, scale complex terrorist attacks in the near future.
President of the German Federal Police Special Forces Directorate, Olaf Lindner, has warned that in the near future large scale complex terror attacks, similar to what was seen in Paris in November 2015, are expected to happen in Germany.
The senior German law enforcement official stated that the police alone cannot prevent or contain any future such attacks without greater co-operation and preparation with the intelligence services and military as well as their European counter-parts.
Germany has suffered atrocities at the hands of Islamist terrorist in the past and had dozens of near misses, detaining six Syrians just last November who were planning to massacre families attending Christmas markets.
The whole of Western Europe remains on high alert for potential attacks after a blood 2017.
